The Los Angeles Rams are set to have one of the NFL's most respected defenders suit up for them this week.
With linebacker and team captain Nate Landman ruled out of the team's Week 7 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Rams are looking to the practice squad to fill his vacancy. Sean McVay told reporters on Friday that Eric Kendricks will be activated for the game.
Kendricks, a second-round pick out of UCLA in 2014, spent his first eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, earning All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2019. Kendricks has also played for the Los Angeles Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers, notably causing the game-winning pass deflection to clinch the 49ers' wild-card win over the Philadelphia Eagles last postseason.
Kendricks signed with the Rams on October 6, with this being his first activation from the practice squad. That means he has two more before Los Angeles has to make a decision on whether it wants to add him to the active roster.
Kendricks has played in 150 regular-season games, making 143 starts. Over that span, he's recorded 732 solo, and 1,180 total tackles. He's also secured 11 career interceptions, forced eight fumbles, and has seven fumble recoveries. He's scored three defensive touchdowns.
He's also played in eight playoff games.
