AEW President Tony Khan has addressed speculation about signing Kairi Sane. The former WWE star remains one of wrestling’s biggest free agents. However, no agreement has been reached between both sides yet.

Sane’s wrestling future has become a major talking point recently. Reports have suggested that AEW could be a potential destination. Ahead of AEW WrestleDream report revealed that AEW and Sane have yet to reach an agreement. Sane is also scheduled to appear on Chris Jericho’s cruise in November. However, that appearance doesn’t confirm an AEW television debut.

Tony Khan comments on a potential Kairi Sane AEW signing

During the AEW WrestleDream post-show, Tony Khan was asked about Sane. The AEW president praised the former WWE star and discussed the possibility. Khan said, “She’s a fantastic wrestler. I can’t speak to that at this time but I am very aware and excited to see that she’s a free agent. I think that that’s very, very interesting, and I’m very intrigued by the possibility of that.”

Fightful Select also shared an update about the ongoing discussions. According to the report, Sane had not signed with AEW as of WrestleDream weekend. The report stated, “Kairi has still not been signed as of this weekend. Light discussions have continued, and there is heavy interest in Japan that is being held up by the AEW talks.”

The update suggests AEW isn’t the only promotion interested in Sane.
