New Leeds Rhinos man Wiremu Greig is ready and willing to “give everything” for the club, after signing at Headingley for 2027.
The Parramatta Eels prop joins the club on a one-year deal with an extension option for a further 12 months should the club wish to do so.
Greig will reunite with former boss Brad Arthur, who was the man to give him his NRL debut back in 2020. He also played alongside winger Maika Sivo that day.
At 26, the forward still has plenty of improvement in him as he enters his prime, and that is something he will be hoping to unlock in the blue and amber.
“I’m really excited to be joining Leeds Rhinos,” Greig said in his first words after signing in West Yorkshire. “It’s a club with a great history and a passionate supporter base, and I’m looking forward to getting over there and being part of it.
“I know how competitive Super League is, and I want to come in, work hard and do my job for the team. As a forward, you want to be in the middle of the action, carrying hard and doing the tough stuff for your teammates. I’m looking forward to getting started and giving everything I’ve got for Leeds.”

Arthur and Leeds are known to hand short-term deals to promising Aussies, with Cooper Jenkins proving to be a success. Jeremiah Mata’utia didn’t have the same luck, but with Greig only here for the next 12 months, he will need to do everything he can to try and earn an extended stay.
Commenting on his new man, Arthur said: “Wiremu is a big, strong middle who can help us get the job done through the middle of the field. He has experience at NRL level, and he knows what it takes to compete physically.”
Detailing how Greig is a positive addition to what the club already have in the pack, he explained: “We want forwards who are prepared to do the hard work, carry the ball strongly and make life difficult for the opposition, and Wiremu has the opportunity to bring those qualities to our group.
“He will come in and have to earn his place, like everyone else, but I’m looking forward to working with him again and seeing what he can bring to the team.”
