Max Dowman emerged in the tunnel after being sent off against Fleetwood Town to swap shirts with opponent Adam Murphy.
The Gunners were dumped out on penalties in one of the biggest shock results of the season so far as League Two side Fleetwood progressed to the next round. Arsenal youngster Dowman was shown a red card after reacting to a challenge by Harrison Neal, kicking out at the midfielder and earning the first dismissal of his senior career.
Arsenal's subsequent appeal to overturn Dowman's red card was rejected by the FA and he will now serve a three-game suspension for violent conduct. The incident caught the attention of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who had some choice words for the 16-year-old as he walked off the pitch following the sending off.
Fleetwood midfielder Adam Murphy has now opened up on swapping shirts with the youngster after the game, though, insisting the Arsenal players showed their class in the tunnel afterwards. He told OffTheBall podcast: "They were very classy in the tunnel afterwards. There was a good few of us waiting outside their changing room just to see if they'd throw us their jersey.
"I remember Odegaard came out, and there was a few of us waiting, and he shook all of our hands and said 'Very best of luck, you deserved it.'"

Murphy was lucky enough to secure Dowman's jersey post-match and added that the teenager remained gracious in defeat despite his sending-off. He added: "I was outside the changing room [waiting for] anyone really, their squad is just unbelievable, you'd take anyone's [jersey].
"But Dowman was there, and I ended up getting his jersey. I don't think he was obviously too happy after getting sent off!"
Dowman will now miss three matches after the club's appeal was rejected. The teenager was dismissed for violent conduct as according to the law, he "used or attempted to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball...regardless of whether contact is made."
Arteta is already light on the wing Bukayo Saka, Christos Tzolis and Noni Madueke all currently out injured. The Spaniard made his thoughts clear on the red card to Dowman's face and also post-match, stating: "When we prepared the context of the match, we were very clear on the things to respect, the things that emotionally we have to dominate. It was very clear."
