Coventry analysis: Wrong to blame officials' decisions
Frank Lampard, head coach of Coventry City, reacts with the 4th official, Samuel Barrott

Coventry will feel hard done by and claim decisions went against them but they ran out of steam in the second half.

They were controlled and confident in the first half were not able to build on Yann Gboho's early goal after the break.

Frank Lampard will point to the decision not to award a penalty for James Tarkowski pulling Caleb Yirenkyi's hair but the guidance has been relaxed this season, meaning an instant foul is not a given.

The officials would have looked for excessive force and decided, with Tarkowski also jumping for the ball, it did not pass the high bar.

But it would be wrong to focus on that as the Sky Blues were unable to handle the hosts once Thierno Barry scored the equaliser.
