Ivy Nile may have quietly signed a new deal with WWE.
According to Fightful Select, Nile’s contract was due to expire at the beginning of October. However, she is still listed as an active talent on WWE’s roster page, and she appeared on the October 6 episode of NXT in a battle royal to determine the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. That match was won by Wren Sinclair, who was impersonating Lady Shani.
Her NXT appearance came after a long stretch away from WWE’s main shows. Nile has been off Raw since March, and she has wrestled only two matches on the show this year. Most of her work in 2026 has come on WWE Main Event, where she has wrestled 12 times, including matches against NXT talent such as Thea Hail, Wendy Choo and Lizzy Rain.
Fightful Select reported in early September that Nile’s contract was set to expire soon and that it had not heard whether she had negotiated a new deal. The same report said WWE had plans for her and that creative had a “big change” in store.
Fightful Select later reported that the change was a tag team with Jordynne Grace. According to Fightful, vignettes pairing the two were filmed over the summer, with the hope that they would air in September, and its sources linked the team to the WWE trademark “Iron Built.” The vignettes never aired.
In May 2025, she won the tournament to become number one contender for the WWE Women’s Speed Championship but lost to Sol Ruca in the title match.
Grace has also been off television, and a WrestleVotes report said WWE does not have her in its creative plans at the moment, while adding that she is not on her way out.
Nile still being on the roster is a good sign that the company sees value in her, even after a year in which she was barely used on Raw. Her name staying on the roster page and her appearance on NXT television right after her contract was due to expire both point to her still being under contract, and they suggest the company wants her visible again.
The Grace team is still the best path for her. Both women have strength-based styles and are competing in bodybuilding, the vignettes are already filmed, and the women’s tag team division needs new challengers. Tatum Paxley holding the tag titles with Alexa Bliss also gives Nile a built-in story against her former partner.
The concern is that WWE has had this plan ready since the summer and still has not pulled the trigger. If Nile did sign a new deal, the company should use it as a reason to finally air those vignettes and give both women something to do on television.
