Youri Tielemans insists the Manchester United players are behind Michael Carrick and “do not want a sudden change” in the dugout as uncertainty grows at Old Trafford.
It has been another huge week for headlines at Manchester United, after the winless run extended to eight matches following a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League. Michael Carrick appeared to be on the brink as executives held meetings over his future.

However, Carrick has been given more time to turn results around. The fans and players remain uncertain about how long he has to improve the team’s form, with a trip to Chelsea scheduled for this weekend.
The turmoil at Old Trafford has worsened as players speak out against Carrick. Club captain Bruno Fernandes questioned the tactics in an explosive post-match interview after United’s 4-0 defeat to Como in the Champions League earlier this month. It raised questions over whether the dressing room has any faith or respect left in the head coach.

Youri Tielemans has urged Man Utd NOT to sack Michael Carrick – What do you make of his comments?
All eyes will be on Carrick and his players this weekend when they travel to Stamford Bridge. Xabi Alonso’s side are fifth in the Premier League table, and they’re favourites for a home win.
United fans want to see more effort from their players. Furthermore, with Ineos giving Carrick more time, it’s time for the big names in the dressing room to stand up and take responsibility by winning football matches.
Tielemans, who signed for United in the summer, has been one of the underwhelming performers this season. He has come out stressing that Carrick has the support of the players, adding that his dismissal would only cause further disruption.
“I came here partly because of him, because he wanted me here,” Tielemans told TNT Sports.
“So I’m very happy for him to stay, and the whole group, we don’t want a sudden change. We don’t want a big change that is going to disrupt things more than they are. We just need stability; we need to keep working hard, and it’s going to turn at some point.”
The 28-year-old added: “Since I’ve come in, he’s always done his work. He’s tried to put a system in place that we all feel comfortable in. I joined this summer because he convinced me to come over and help the team out.
“I can only speak positively about him, and everyone in the changing room would do the same. We all just need to stick together and turn this situation around.”
When asked about players speaking out against figures at the club, such as Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez, Tielemans admitted that these conversations should take place behind closed doors. He also explained that such outbursts are an indication of the players’ passion for the club.
“Everyone is like they are,” Tielemans said. “It’s just a case of trying to do that in the right tone, the right moment.
“There has been a lot of talk about it, obviously, so I’m not going to go into this much further. But it shows that everyone cares. We all want to turn these things around.
“We want to win games. We’re all winners, and when frustration builds up, you might have different words and different opinions, which is totally normal. As long as it stays in the group, that’s the best part.”
Tielemans will be keen to prove himself in a United shirt. His performances to date have been below par, despite arriving with plenty of Premier League experience from his spells at Leicester City and Aston Villa.
