The Women’s Pro Motocross Championship Powered by Synchrony (WMX) announced its 2027 schedule, with the opening round returning to Fox Raceway in Pala, California, on May 29, 2027. In 2026, the WMX opening round was moved to Round 2 as part of the Hangtown Motocross Classic in Rancho Cordova, California.
“After a groundbreaking season in 2026, the WMX is poised for another historic campaign in 2027 as the championship profile continues to grow and become a destination for the best women’s racers from across the globe,” said Christina Denney, WMX Series Director, MX Sports Pro Racing in a news release. “A total of four different major champions competed against one another this past summer and we expect even more international talent to commit to the WMX for the upcoming season. The six events that make up the championship are some of the highest profile races in the world and the inclusion of the WMX Invitational at the SMX Final has established unparalleled exposure for women in motocross.”
Lachlan Turner, Charli Cannon, and Hannah Hodges were embroiled in one of the best battles of the SMX Playoff finale, which asks the question: “Should they race more Supercross-style tracks?”
All six rounds will be held as companion to the Pro Motocross Nationals, beginning with Fox Raceway (May 28-29), continuing with Round 2 at Hangtown (June 4-5), and Round 3 in Thunder Valley MX Park in Lakewood, Colorado (June 11-12). The WMX Series will then take a break during the summer, and end with the final three Motocross Nationals in Unadilla, New York (August 13-14), Mechanicsville, Maryland (August 20-21), and Crawfordsville, Indiana (August 27-28).
After a successful debut in 2026, the WMX Invitational will once again be part of the SMX World Championship Final on September 25, at a venue that has not yet been announced.
