The 24-year-old has linked up with the Shrimpers on loan until January and is set to make his debut for them in their National League game at Worthing tonight along with Omari Patrick, who has arrived on a season-long loan from Forest Green Rovers.
Southend boss Kieron Dyer told the club’s website: “The beauty of what we experienced in the summer with so much transition is that we always gave ourselves scope to see what needed to be added to improve.
“We’re quite fortunate that over the 14 games we’ve played we’ve been able to see where we’re lacking – in experience – so to get Ash Palmer and Omari in brings that experience, and along with Tyreece they’ve all played at a higher level than the National League so they should really boost our squad.
“Tyreece brings a lot of pace and power – similar to Promise, but probably even more explosive in his running.”

Simpson joined Port Vale on a one-year deal in August, after being released by Stevenage at the end of last season.
He has made four League Two appearances for Vale, so far.
Simpson was released by Stevenage at the end of last season, having missed the entire 2025/26 campaign, after rupturing his Achilles tendon in pre-season.
The Saint Kitts and Nevis international played for Colchester in the 2024/25 season after joining them on loan from Stevenage, in January 2025.

In total, the former Ipswich Town youngster made 20 league appearances for the U's, six of which were starts.
Simpson scored two goals for Colchester, both in games against Notts County.
Following his Achilles injury, Simpson said he was now "in a much better place mentally, physically" and ready to play.
