The Los Angeles Rams have not looked like the Super Bowl-contending team many thought they would be entering the season. There's no other logical conclusion, as the team has stumbled out of the gate to a 2-4 record heading into a road matchup with the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Part of the reason for the Rams' struggles has undoubtedly centered around the unavailability of Myles Garrett. It would be unfair to expect Garrett to prop up the Rams' defense by himself, but he is a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate who hasn't played since Week 1 as he recovers from early-season knee surgery.
So, uh, yeah, you're usually going to feel the absence of superstars like that. What a novel concept!
Garrett will miss the Raiders' game, but it looks like the Rams could be ready for the superstar to finally make his midseason return ... but next week. The Rams will play "host" to the Los Angeles Chargers (the two teams share a stadium) in said game on Sunday, November 1st. That's the early word without a 100 percent guarantee, anyway:
Garrett's potential return comes at a perfect time for the Rams, especially if they can beat the Raiders on Sunday. Los Angeles has minimal margin for error remaining if it still wants to be a Super Bowl contender this season. Garrett returning now and wreaking his trademark havoc would undoubtedly be a welcome sight for everyone in the Rams organization.
