Cameron Knowles refused to rule Minnesota United out of the playoff race and warned there are "no easy games" ahead of hosting Sporting Kansas City in MLS.
Sporting KC are already out of the playoff picture, but Minnesota still have an outside chance of making it through to the postseason after going unbeaten in their last four outings (W1 D3).
They currently sit 13th in the Western Conference with only three games remaining and are six points behind ninth-place LA Galaxy, meaning their fate is out of their hands.
A loss could see them ruled out completely depending on results elsewhere on Wednesday, but Knowles is not ready to give up the fight just yet.
"We have to wait and see," Knowles said. "We see what the other results are, and we look at the games ahead of us, and maybe we win out.
"We don't know. There's still games to be played. So, we just have to look at the one that's in front of us and really attack it and go for the three points.
"There are no easy games, and it would be naive of us to say there is one coming up at any point."
Sporting KC sit bottom of the West with just 22 points to their name, and they are winless in their last five matches (D1 L4), including losing each of the last three.
They threw away a lead to lose 2-1 to Austin FC last time out, and head coach Raphael Wicky felt they did not deserve to walk away empty-handed.
"The creation of chances is obviously the positive thing, but at the end of the day, you have to kill these games," he said after the loss.
"You have to become a team who doesn't need five or six chances to win a game. I think that was a game we should have won with the chances we've created.
"In the end, we did not, and that's disappointing."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Minnesota United – Drake Callendar
Last time out, Minnesota kept their first clean sheet in 14 games, with Drake Callendar shutting out the Houston Dynamo's attack in a 0-0 draw.
He only had one save to make, with Houston only mustering 0.8 expected goals (xG) from their 10 attempts, but it will have been a morale-boosting clean sheet for the team, who had shipped 31 goals in the 13 games beforehand.

Sporting Kansas City – Stephen Afrifa
Stephen Afrifa netted Sporting KC's goal in their loss to Austin, netting for the fourth time this season.
He was a constant threat, having nine shots in total, the highest total for a Sporting player in a single MLS game this season, while he also topped the charts for attempts on target (four) and touches in the opposition box (12).
MATCH PREDICTION: MINNESOTA UNITED WIN
Minnesota were unbeaten in five straight MLS matches against Sporting KC (W4 D1), but they lost the most recent meeting 2-1 back in July.
The Loons' home form has been a problem throughout 2026, as they have won just 16 of the 45 points on offer to them at Allianz Field, though they did beat St. Louis City SC last time out on home soil (3-2).
The supercomputer is backing Minnesota to come out on top, given Sporting KC have endured a miserable run on the road. They have suffered 12 losses away from home in MLS, recording just three wins.
