Harry Wilson believes the Elland Road atmosphere for Sunday’s showdown with rivals Manchester United could emulate that seen during last month’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United.
Wilson chose that game against the Magpies as his standout home memory so far, describing the general feeling from the Leeds United fans as “magic”. Leeds enter Sunday’s clash high on confidence against a Man United side splintered and fractured.
The Red Devils have won just one of their first six league games and have not won in any competition for four matches. Some are even tipping Leeds - who have only lost one game so far, against champions Arsenal last weekend - as the favourites.
Wilson, though, says the players must make sure they keep their feet on the ground. Appearing on Radio X on Thursday, Wilson said: “I’m really looking forward to the game.
"We’ve started the season well and made a solid start. But in football, you have to make sure you deliver on the day.
“People might think Man United are not in the greatest form at the moment but everyone knows what good players they’ve got and what a great team they are and if we’re not on it, then it will be tough for us.
“We need to keep doing what we have been doing. Use the energy that the supporters are going to bring. And let's see what happens.”

After a goalless draw with Crystal Palace in their last match staged on a Sunday, Farke admitted the 2pm kick off had an effect on the mood of the crowd. However, that is expected to be different this weekend given who are coming to town.
Asked about the atmosphere brought by the fans at Elland Road, Wilson added: “It’s been magic. The first time I really felt it was the night game against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago.
“I think playing football under the lights, if you ask any football player, that’s the best time to play. The atmosphere just feels that extra special.
“For the lads to have performed so well that night, I think the energy and the support inside the stadium that night was amazing. That's going to be no different on Sunday. “
Wilson has not had the smoothest of starts since becoming Leeds’ first signing of the summer, as a free agent. The attacker has started just one Premier League game and none since the opening day.
He did get his first assist for Leeds when crossing in the corner for Tarik Muharemovic’s opener against Chelsea during the helter-skelter 6-3 League Cup defeat at Stamford Bridge, but later gave away the ball for the home side’s third comeback goal.
However, in general terms, Wilson says he has found it “easy” to fit in around Leeds, helped by the presence of a number of international teammates. “I think for me, it helped having the Welsh boys, we’ve got a big connection here so that really helped me," he added.
“But I think the other lads that are signed, and the group from abroad, I think because we’ve got such a good group here it’s been easy for them to join the group and I’m really settling well.
“A lot of the boys speak German and I think that might make them feel more at home because they can connect a bit better.
“We’ve got a really strong group and the lads that have come in have done really well, they’ve settled well and we’re all together, all united and we’re looking to have a really good season. “
