Blake Grupe placed on IR after getting hurt in 1st game with Rams

The Los Angeles Rams will have yet another new kicker next week when they face the Las Vegas Raiders. The team announced on Monday that Blake Grupe has been placed on injured reserve, which sidelines him for a minimum of four games.

The Rams just signed Grupe off the Jets’ practice squad last week and he made his debut on Sunday against the Cardinals. He made a 44-yard field goal but injured his knee on the ensuing kickoff while trying to make a tackle.

He was unable to return to the game and punter Ethan Evans took over kicking duties, even making a PAT to give the Rams a one-point lead late in the fourth.

Grupe was seen with a brace on his knee and was using crutches after the game.

The Rams didn't hold any tryouts with other kickers before signing Grupe last week, so it's unclear where they might turn now that Harrison Mevis has been cut and Grupe is injured.

Los Angeles faces the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
