The Denver Broncos entered the 2026 season not just with playoff expectations, but also with the hope of reaching the Super Bowl after making it to the AFC Championship Game last season.

While Sean Payton’s team has gotten off to a 4-2 start, it’s been far from pretty. For example, the Broncos’ offense ranks 26th in the NFL, averaging just 19 points per game. Sean Payton has already stripped play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Davis Webb.

Others have called for the Broncos to bench Bo Nix, whose PFN Impact Score of 66.5 ranks 29th among quarterbacks this season. Meanwhile, some would like to see the Broncos make another trade for an impact player, much like general manager George Paton did this offseason by acquiring Jaylen Waddle.

Could another blockbuster trade be in the works for the Broncos?

NFL Rumors: Broncos Eyeing Jonathan Taylor Trade?

As much as Nix has struggled, Denver’s rushing offense has been just as ineffective, averaging 3.4 yards per carry, 30th in the NFL through six games. J.K. Dobbins has managed only 3.3 yards per attempt after averaging 5.0 across 10 games last season.

Meanwhile, some Broncos fans would like to see the team take advantage of a struggling Indianapolis Colts team that just fired longtime general manager Chris Ballard on Monday. If the Colts are preparing for a fire sale after a 2-4 start, could they make All-Pro running back Jonathan Taylor available via trade?

KOA Colorado’s Benjamin Allbright doesn’t believe a Taylor trade is the type of move the Broncos have on their radar right now. He placed the odds of a trade for the three-time Pro Bowl running back as “extremely low.”

“Extremely low,” Allbright said. “They’re more concerned with what they have and are trying to develop than trying to acquire high-priced new pieces. Now, if they’re unable to do that nearer to the deadline, maybe they take a look around for something cost-effective, but right now, no.”

The Colts just signed their star running back to a two-year, $44 million contract extension in August. Taylor ranks 10th in the league with a PFN RB Impact Score of 80.6.

Even though he’s under contract through 2028, some believe the 27-year-old could be up for grabs for the right price. But it doesn’t sound like Broncos fans should get their hopes up just yet.
