The New York Knicks head into the 2026/27 NBA season looking to defend their championship.

After a 53-year wait, the Knicks came out on top in the NBA Finals earlier this year, beating the San Antonio Spurs.

The Knicks were in great form across the season but as the new campaign gets underway, they do not seem to be among the favourites to go on and win the championship next year.

Legion Hoops have shared a list of ESPN experts making their NBA picks for 2026/27 and not one of them has decided to go with the Knicks.

Fans offer mixed responses to the New York Knicks being snubbed by ESPN experts

Many fans have since given mixed responses to the Knicks being snubbed by the experts.

One fan wrote: “Considering it’s been quite a while since the last repeat, this isn’t surprising.”

Another suggested: “Repeating is hard but the fact that none of them picked an East team to win is pretty crazy.”

“We love it that way. Keep doubting again,” stated a third fan.

A fourth echoed: “Just like they never picked us to win this year. Bring on the doubters, it’s what drives us.”

But another commented: “Obviously? It’s nearly impossible to repeat in today’s NBA. Better teams than the Knicks didn’t repeat.”

A sixth tweeted: “Haven’t had anyone go back to back since the Warriors, not a crazy thing to predict that the Knicks won’t repeat.”

The Knicks are now due to get their regular season underway on Tuesday evening against the Philadelphia 76ers.
