Brora Rangers face a short journey across the Highlands in the third round of this season’s Scottish Cup.
The Cattachs earned their way into the draw for the next round by seeing off Rothes 9-0 before yesterday’s dramatic extra time victory over Cowdenbeath.
Goalkeeper Cammy Mackay was Brora’s saviour, scoring a stoppage time header to force the extra 30 minutes, where James Wallace and Ben Barron scored to seal their spot in the next round.
With the draw being conducted this evening, it has thrown up an away day for Brora to Dingwall, where they will face Ross County.
The Staggies enter the competition at the third round stage, but have been in formidable form this season, scoring more than 80 goals already as they reached the quarter finals of the League Cup, earned a seeded spot in the knockout rounds of the KDM Evolution Trophy and top League One.
Brora are responsible for one of the biggest giant killings in the competition’s history, though, knocking out then-Championship side Hearts back in 2021.
That could give them optimism going to Dingwall, but Cattachs boss Steven Mackay will know that even an upset will not come easily.
Third round ties will take place on the weekend of Saturday, November 28.
