Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani and Farman Hasanov kick off the UFC Fight Night 292 main card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.
Lebosnoyani (11-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) enters his third UFC appearance. He won his first two fights in the promotion by decision: a split decision over Phil Rowe and a unanimous decision over Seok Hyeon Ko.
Hasanov (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) enters his sophomore UFC bout. His debut went the distance in a unanimous decision over Eric Nolan.
Kicking off the main card is a potential welterweight war between Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani and Farman Hasanov.
Hasanov, who is a master of sport in freestyle wrestling, set the record for takedown attempts in his UFC debut opposite Eric Nolan earlier this year. However, as impressive as that might sound, Hasanov showed that his game is still very raw when it comes to controlling the pace and positions of a fight.
Whereas Hasanov's opponent, Lebosnoyani, is a deceptively experienced and well-rounded fighter who has made some semi-surprising upgrades since moving up to welterweight.
I expect a strong start from Hasanov, but ultimately suspect that Lebosnoyani's left-sided kicks and submission prowess will be too much as things heat up.
The oddsmakers and the public favor the American fighter, listing Lebosnoyani -300 and Hasanov +235 via FanDuel.
As the main card opener, Lebosnoyani and Hasanov are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 7:15 p.m. ET. The fight streams live on Paramount+.
