The Lindsays National XC Relays, which were set to take place on Saturday, October 24 in Cumbernauld, were called off by Scottish Athletics staff and event officials at 1pm on Friday following a review of the latest forecast and conditions at the venue.

A Met Office warning for wind was in place from midday on Saturday, prompting concerns about falling branches, debris, and difficult underfoot conditions for athletes.
Scottish Athletics said: "This was not an easy decision, and we know how disappointing it will be for the athletes, coaches, clubs, officials and volunteers who have put so much into preparing for the day.
"We would rather be open about our reasons and make the call as soon as practical than ask people to travel and compete in conditions we are not comfortable with."
Officials also highlighted concerns about the lack of safe shelter, as gazebos and club tents would not withstand the forecasted winds, and the site did not have enough alternative cover for athletes, spectators, and officials.
Additional risks were noted for essential infrastructure, including barriers, signage, and timing equipment, all of which could be compromised by high winds.
Organisers said that even if the event could proceed, the conditions would not provide a positive experience for participants and supporters.
They are currently exploring options for rescheduling or alternative arrangements.
They said: "We are looking at options for the event and will share an update as soon as we have more information.
"Please check the website and social media channels for updates."
