Los Angeles Rams injury crisis deepens as Puka Nacua leaves practice with calf issue

The Los Angeles Rams suffered yet another injury blow on Thursday when Puka Nacua left practice due to a calf injury.

Sean McVay's team has been savaged by injuries this season, with the likes of Davante Adams and Myles Garrett already sidelined.

Nacua is quarterback Matthew Stafford's most trusted receiver and one of the most dangerous offensive players in the NFL.

But he left practice nursing an issue with his calf, just three days before McVay's team faces the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rams have gotten off to a horrible start in a campaign where they were the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl. Now, they're without their top two wide receivers and many of their defensive stars.

At the time of his injury, the controversial Nacua had the most catches (37) on the Rams with the second-most yards (417) among receivers.

Now, after Adams was placed on the IR following Sunday's embarrassing overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Rams will trot out a wide receiver room of Tutu Atwell, Konata Mumpfield and Jordan Whittington.

The Rams have four losses on their schedule - including an overtime defeat to the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football and last week's loss to the Cardinals.

Despite leading the league in passing yards, quarterback Matthew Stafford has struggled throughout the season - throwing 11 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Part of their struggle can be blamed on their injury list. In addition to Adams and Garrett, defensive tackle Poona Ford, defensive end Kobie Turner, tight end Terrance Ferguson and kicker Blake Grupe are on the IR.

In addition, linebacker Nate Landman and cornerback Trent McDuffie are listed as questionable for Sunday's game.

The Rams have a relatively easier part of their schedule coming up - with four straight games against opponents who don't have winning records.
