Abbas Afridi takes down Krunal Pandya in India-Pakistan clash

Pakistan captain tore into Pandya in the opening over of the run-chase, smashing five consecutive sixes as they mowed down the 89-run target in just 3.5 overs. Khawaja Nafay followed his captain's lead and blasted two sixes and two fours in the next over off T Natarajan, with Afridi also hitting a four.

The pair added 59 runs for the first wicket in just two overs before Shashank Singh removed Afridi for 35 off eight on the first ball of his over. Nafay went on to make 41 off 12 deliveries before falling to Rahul Tewatia.

Things just didn't go well for India captain in this encounter, getting dismissed for a golden duck earlier, and only making it worse with five sixes off five balls. Nitish Rana also struggled with the bat, managing only 19 off 14 balls before he was retired out.

Rahul Tripathi made nine off five balls while Tewatia also had a golden duck. It was Shashank who provided any sort of impetus, smashing 40 runs off 11 deliveries. He hit five sixes and two fours in his knock.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan were stunned by the United Arab Emirates by one wicket, with Khalid Shah blasting 71 in 20 balls to chase down 107. India are scheduled to face the UAE on Saturday, and will have a chance to reach the semi-finals.
