Jack Wilshere explains why he 'hated' facing Celtic legend Scott Brown

Wilshere, who made 197 appearances for the Gunners, faced the Celtic legend in pre-season and on international duty.

When asked on The Athletic about the player he hated facing most, Wilshere said: "Scott Brown.

"I played against him once for Celtic. I played against him in pre-season once. He was horrible. I played against him for Scotland. He was horrible.

"There was a few that you knew would hit you hard, but he didn't care. Like even if it wasn't on to hit you hard, he'd hit you hard."

Brown spent 16 years at Celtic, winning ten Scottish Premiership titles, six Scottish Cups, and seven League Cups.

He made 618 appearances before leaving for Aberdeen in 2021.

Brown retired less than a year later and managed Fleetwood Town and Ayr United, before becoming a regular pundit.
