The Colorado football team got back on track over the weekend, snapping a five-game losing streak with an overtime win over Kansas State. That was reflected in the newest USA TODAY Sports 1-138 re-rank.
The Buffaloes beat a depleted Wildcats team 27-24 in dramatic fashion at Folsom Field. Isaac Wilson forced tight end Charlie Williams for the game-winning touchdown, but running back Richard Young led the offense with a 100-plus-yard day on the ground.
It was not a dominant performance, but it was a much-needed win for a reeling program.
In the latest USA TODAY Sports national FBS power rankings, the Buffs rose four spots to No. 91. This week, Colorado faces Arizona State, ranked No. 62. CU remains the lowest-ranked Big 12 team, with Kansas up 11 spots.
They'll face a road test against the Sun Devils this weekend, with a chance to move to 4-5, which would put bowl eligibility and six wins entirely on the table.
A few other Power Four programs surround Colorado, including Arkansas (No. 88), Stanford (No. 94) and Cal (No. 96). The top 10 changed significantly, with Ohio State falling from No. 1 to No. 10 and Miami taking over the top spot. The Canes are followed by Georgia, Utah, BYU, Indiana and Notre Dame.
The Big 12 is well represented at the top of the rankings: Utah at No. 3 after moving up one spot this week, BYU at No. 4, Texas Tech at No. 20 and Houston at No. 21.
