Chinmay Sutar Smashes Maiden Triple Century for Mizoram

Playing as a guest player for Mizoram, Chinmay Sutar reached his triple century off 364 balls, hitting 37 fours and five sixes. He remained unbeaten on 318 off 385 deliveries by lunch on Day 2, becoming the first batter to score a triple century in the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season.

Chinmay Sutar held Mizoram’s innings together as wickets fell around him. Wicketkeeper Jehu Anderson offered support with 69 off 151 balls, while Lalhruaizela contributed 31. Six other Mizoram batters fell for single-digit scores.

Chinmay Sutar then combined with Lalrempuia Chhakchhuak in an unbroken 97-run partnership for the last wicket to take Mizoram to 489/9. Nagaland’s Anil Sanjay Gupta was the leading wicket-taker with 3/123.

Saurav Kumar claimed 2/94 and bowled five maidens, while Neizekho Rupreo took 2/98. Nagaho Chishi maintained an economy rate of 1.80, but the bowlers could not dislodge Chinmay Sutar.

Ayush Badoni’s Double Century Takes Delhi Past 500

Delhi captain Ayush Badoni scored an unbeaten 204 off 238 balls, including 20 fours and two sixes, by lunch on Day 2. He kept his celebrations subdued while focusing on building Delhi’s first-innings total. Sumit Mathur supported him with an unbeaten 48 off 123 balls.

The pair added an unbroken 150 runs for the fifth wicket, taking Delhi past 500 and putting Gujarat under pressure. Their stand followed a 234-run partnership between Badoni and Priyansh Arya on Day 1. Arya scored 199 off 220 balls before Manan Hingrajia dismissed him.

Gujarat’s bowlers struggled on the batting-friendly Palam surface. Chintan Gaja conceded 91 runs in 24 overs without taking a wicket, while Siddharth Desai gave away 108 runs in 23 overs. Vishal Jayswal also proved expensive, with Hingrajia’s dismissal of Arya the main breakthrough for Gujarat.
