The match - to kick off at 4pm - also comes as part of a double-header with Great Yarmouth Town FC and Stowmarket Town FC facing off in the earlier game at 1pm.

In a video on his AwayDays YouTube channel, Ellis Platten – who is originally from Great Yarmouth – said: “We have the chance to break a record attendance which has been held for over 40 years.

“The money we can make for the day for the clubs involved is huge. We can help out these clubs for the future massively.

“If we can do over 1000 people and break a record again I will be blown away. It will be huge for us but more importantly it will be huge for both teams.”

The money raised from the day will go towards Great Yarmouth Town FC and AC Mill Lane.

HISTORICAL FACTS ABOUT THE WELLESLEY

The Wellesley opened in 1888 and is widely regarded to have the oldest football grandstand in the world still in use.

Its first major event was cycle races on a cinder track, watched by around 3,000 spectators.

The first recorded football match is thought to have been on April 11, 1890 between a county captain's eleven and a Yarmouth side.

The grandstand, designed by engineer J.W. Cockrill, opened on June 11, 1892.

Great Yarmouth Town FC were formed in 1897 and moved to the Wellesley for the 1901-02 season, having previously played at Beaconsfield Recreation Ground.

The record attendance of 8,944 was set on November 21, 1953 for an FA Cup first-round tie against Crystal Palace which the Bloaters won 1-0.

Today the Wellesley has an overall capacity of around 3,600 and remains in use as a non-league football venue wrapped by an athletics track.
