Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Igor Paixao are both keen to leave Olympique de Marseille during the January transfer window, as per a report from Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
Paixao was heavily linked with an exit over the summer. However, he ultimately stayed following an intervention from Bruno Genesio, who made it clear that the Brazilian needed to be retained. He was supported in his request by sporting director Grégory Lorenzi, and so, as a result, owner Frank McCourt reneged on his decision to sell, despite talks with Sunderland.
Get French Football News understands that the Brazilian’s entourage held talks with Sunderland and Genesio has recently said that Paixao may not have yet come to terms with his failed transfer.
He, however, does want to leave Marseille in January. And Hojbjerg, who rejected a summer move to Newcastle United, wants to follow him out of the door in January. Marseille could, therefore, see two key players leave mid-season.
