Man Utd player ratings as Michael Carrick’s team humiliated by Como in their third Champions League game to leave the fans embarrassed.

The Atletico nightmare repeated for Man Utd as they conceded within two minutes again, as Nico Paz curled in the opener for Como.

Deja vu in the second half followed as a good start was again foiled by a sucker punch by Como who doubled the lead to leave Michael Carrick stare down the barrel of another defeat.

The third came soon after as things got ugly(er) because none of the Man Utd players on the pitch looked bothered by the humiliation. It could have been six or seven, but finished 4-1, courtesy of Zirkzee’s late inconsequential goal.

Senne Lammens – 5

Secure as a sweeper-keeper. Helpless for every goal.

Diogo Dalot – 3

Missed a sitter early on and Nico Paz scored at the other end less than a minute later.

Harry Maguire – 3

Gave Paz too much room at the edge of the box and he curled one in to give Como a dream start.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Better of the two CBs on his first start in nearly a year. It reflects poorly on his teammates rather than good on him.

Noussair Mazraoui – 1

Played out of position and Como had a field day toying with him. Completely off the pace. Is Harry Amass really that much worse than this version of Mazraoui?

Andrey Santos – 3

Got a booking and got rushed on the ball every time. Didn’t look equipped to play at this level.

Mason Mount – 4

Better than Santos but that’s not a compliment. Bypassed too easily as his pressing was played around by Como’s technicians.

Bruno Fernandes – 2

Fluid role in the worst possible manner as he was poor everywhere. Not happy with his teammates, not happy with his form, and looks like a player who has quit on the team out of frustration.

Youri Tielemans – 3

Same as Fernandes. Nobody knows where he’s supposed to be playing, but he’s clumsy everywhere.

Matheus Cunha – 4

Tried a few combination plays to get the team going forward but simply not enough, especially with Mazraoui behind him.

Bryan Mbeumo – 4

Made some dangerous runs but looked blunted having been taken away from the ST position.

Substitutes

Carlos Baleba – 3

Gave the ball away for Como’s third. Looks like the United black hole is well and truly starting to affect him.

Amad – 6

Tried to bring United back into the game by running at the defence and testing the goalkeeper. Deserved assist for Zirkzee.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

His sub was the equivalent of Carrick waving a white flag as he replaced Fernandes. Scored an inconsequential consolation in injury time.

Harry Amass – 6

Harsh to rate him any lower when in the name of “protecting him”, he is thrown in with the team 4-0 down.

Shea Lacey – 6

Same as Amass. At least he showed some desire and fight.
