FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 25 October, including the latest updates on Lennart Karl, Malo Gusto and Alexis Mac Allister.
Article continues under the videoBayern Munich youngster Lennart Karl is facing an uncertain future, TEAMtalk claims.
The 18-year-old is struggling for consistent minutes after his breakout season last term and has been warned by honorary president Uli Hoeness not to believe his own hype. Karl signed a new long-term deal earlier this year, but his future at Bayern is in doubt.
It is asserted that he could become "one to watch" in 2027 if his fortunes do not improve, with Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool among the clubs that have been alerted to Karl's situation.
The same outlet also writes that Man City are "ready to sign" Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto in January.
Despite the uncertainty over the club's charges and the fact that the France international could command a world-record fee (for a right-back), City retain a "strong interest" and will make a move if Chelsea lower their asking price.
The Blues demanded north of €80 million for Gusto in the summer, which was deemed excessive by City and Liverpool, but it is now believed that the West London outfit could be more flexible with their demands in January.
Liverpool are not planning to offer Alexis Mac Allister a new contract as things stand, Ben Jacobs understands.
The Argentine midfielder expressed his disappointment with Liverpool's unwillingness to engage in extension talks in the summer and was reportedly offered to clubs like Real Madrid, Man Utd and Man City. Mac Allister's current deal expires in 2028.
Jacobs says that Liverpool are planning to sign at least one new midfielder in 2027, which could see Mac Allister sacrificed. Alex Scott of Bournemouth, AS Roma star Manu Kone and AS Monaco's Lamine Camara are on the club's shortlist.
Man Utd will prioritise strengthening their defence in January, with RB Leipzig captain David Raum a "leading target," as per CaughtOffside.
The left-back has been on the club's radar since at least the summer due to his contract situation. Raum's deal expires next summer, and Leipzig have been slow to start negotiations over fresh terms.
First positive discussions have now taken place, but the extension plans could be foiled by Man Utd, who have placed Raum at the top of their January shortlist. He is deemed the most attainable high-profile option.
Premier League clubs, "especially Arsenal," are "making moves" for Monza striker Gustavo Varela, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a red-hot start to life in Italy after joining the Serie A club from Benfica, scoring seven league goals in as many games and a brace in the Coppa Italia. His form is increasingly attracting high-profile attention.
Arsenal were already linked with Varela earlier in the week, but they no longer appear to be the only English club to have taken notice of the Portugal youth international. In Italy, Napoli and Inter have begun scouting the striker.
