New Orleans Saints stars Alvin Kamara and Cameron Jordan brought some American football humour to Paris on Tuesday night as they made a surprise appearance during CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage.
The NFL duo joined the broadcaster’s team ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Barcelona and wasted little time getting involved in the conversation.
Kamara immediately raised a smile with a cheeky comment about what the sport should actually be called.
“Oh you called it soccer? I thought it was called football?!” he joked, prompting laughter and applause from the studio.
While Americans typically refer to the game as soccer, football remains the preferred name across Europe, something Kamara was clearly happy to play along with.
Jordan also appeared to be enjoying the occasion as the pair soaked up the atmosphere surrounding one of European football’s biggest competitions.
Their appearance offered a welcome change of pace from the usual pre-match discussion, with the CBS team clearly appreciating the humour.
The Saints vs the Pittsburgh Steelers will be the first-ever regular-season NFL game in France this weekend.
