MUTV pundit raves about Diogo Dalot performance vs Bournemouth, ‘Manchester United’s best attacker’

There were no positives for Manchester United supporters in the 3-0 loss to Bournemouth. But one analyst on MUTV found one.

Manchester United’s players are struggling badly for confidence at the moment, and there are legitimate questions as to whether any of them are good enough.

On MUTV, former player Ben Thornley felt compelled to praise one player he felt stood out for the right reasons, Diogo Dalot.

Thornley told United’s in-house channel that he felt Dalot’s effort and work rate stood out – even if his final end product was lacking.

He said: “I think he was he was certainly one that definitely caught your eye because he he just never stopped, and he was available from you know the first couple of minutes.

“The first attack that we had came down his side, and he was still doing it into injury time, and yes, there could have been a little bit more quality once he did get himself into those positions. But you cannot argue that he was up and down [the pitch], and he was actually Manchester United’s best attacker on the day.”

Manchester United BEATEN 3-0 at home to Bournemouth – Is it all OVER for Michael Carrick?

How much longer can Carrick last? Which players let United down?

Bruno is our best playmaker.Tilesman doesnt give bruno the room to show his space splitting passes, HE doesnt mark,so its a big risk to pair him with bruno,Buno needs protectors not more playmakers. i have been expecting all these pundicts to say it rather than criticising players reaction.L.Martinez said he has been trying to keep his emotions to himself.

Just about caught your pizzagate reference even tho I was in nappies when it happened habah

I think Fabregas would be a very very good appointment for Man United. Gives me vibes of when Arsenal hired Arteta. Young manager with so much potential. Will need time to sort the mess out but he’s the one. The new special one.

Diogo Dalot’s numbers vs Bournemouth

Diogo Dalot had 92 touches against Bournemouth, more than any player on the pitch. Dalot also set the highest top speed at 34.4 km/h.

For all his hard work however, Dalot had one shot off target and created only one chance.

Gary Neville suggested on commentary that Bournemouth were quite content for Dalot to have possession of the ball, because he offered such little goal threat.

Dalot has been at United since 2018. One thing you can never level at him is a lack of effort, but ultimately against Bournemouth – it was not enugh.
