Panthers OT Taylor Moton fractured his fibula

Sunday was an ugly day on the scoreboard for the Panthers and it was a bad day for right tackle Taylor Moton as well.

Moton left the 43-13 loss to the Buccaneers with a leg injury and head coach Dave Canales told reporters at a postgame press conference that Moton has suffered a fractured fibula. Moton will miss a significant amount of time as a result.

There’s no good time for an injury like that, but the timing is particularly rough for Moton as he just returned from missing the first four games of the season while recovering from blood clots in his lungs.

First-round pick Monroe Freeling replaced Moton during that absence and he’ll likely be back in the lineup as long as he’s healthy enough to play.
