Will Tennessee Titans' Tyjae Spears play in Week 6?

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears is questionable for Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts with a knee injury.

The Tennessee Titans travel to Indianapolis for a Week 6 AFC South battle against the Colts on Sunday and will look to bounce back after a disastrous Week 5 outing against the Houston Texans.

The Titans head into the weekend with some injury concerns, though they appear relatively healthy. Tennessee will miss starting safety Kevin Winston Jr. (quad) and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (NIR/personal) and will call up safety Isaiah Oliver and defensive tackle Timmy Horne from the practice squad to help.

They also head into the matchup with running back Tyjae Spears listed as questionable with a knee injury. Spears had an uneven week of practice, going through every stage of practice status, including practicing fully on Friday.

Elevations

With the Titans unable to elevate a running back for this contest, Spears seems like a safe bet to suit up against his division rivals. Although, with Tennessee already carrying five running backs on the 53-man roster, that doesn’t totally rule out him being inactive on Sunday.

Will Spears play against the Colts?

With Spears practicing fully on Friday after sitting out practice on Thursday, he appears to be trending in the right direction to play on Sunday. The veteran running back led the backfield in snaps against the Texans in Week 5 and could play a significant role against the Colts if he returns.

Who would replace Spears if he can’t play?

The most logical candidate is veteran Michael Carter, who has a similar skill set to Spears and is already on the 53-man roster. The Titans added him to the active roster after the Week 3 matchup with the New York Giants but haven't used him yet, making him inactive on game days.

If they go a different route, they could give rookie Nick Singleton more snaps. Singleton has some game experience in 2026, though he was inactive for the Week 5 matchup against the Texans.
