Davante Adams isn't the only injured wide receiver who will miss out on a chance to face the Green Bay Packers.
Romeo Doubs, who left the Packers to sign a four-year, $68 million deal with the New England Patriots in free agency this past March, suffered a shoulder injury on a touchdown catch against the New York Jets on Sunday and was placed on injured reserve on Monday.
Doubs will now miss games against the Chicago Bears in Week 7, Miami Dolphins in Week 8, Packers in Week 9 and Detroit Lions in Week 10 before he's eligible to return. The Packers and Patriots play on Sunday, Nov. 8 in New England.
Despite a shaky debut performance for the Patriots in Week 1, Doubs has been productive and efficient through six games, catching 14 of 24 targets for 261 yards and three scores. He is averaging 18.6 yards per catch and 10.9 yards per target, which would both be career highs. All three of his touchdowns have come during New England's current three-game winning streak.
Here's the play in which Doubs was injured on Sunday. He made the sliding catch in the end zone but came down hard on his right shoulder:
Drake Maye and the Patriots will lean on DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III and Kyle Williams as the complementary receivers around A.J. Brown moving forward.
Doubs, a 2022 fourth-round pick, caught 21 touchdown passes over his 59 regular season games with the Packers between 2022 and 2025. With Doubs now in New England, 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden has come to life as a primary target for Jordan Love, catching 30 passes for 501 yards and three touchdowns so far in 2026.
Adams, who now stars for the Los Angeles Rams, ruptured his hamstring on Sunday and is expected to miss 6-10 weeks. The Packers play the Rams in Week 12.
