Manchester United have produced some of football’s greatest goalscorers, and another attacker has now received recognition following an impressive nine-goal haul.
From Denis Law and George Best to Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, United have a remarkable history of players capable of deciding matches through their goals.
Ruud van Nistelrooy was another prolific figure, winning the Premier League Golden Boot in 2002/03 with 25 goals.
More recently, United have struggled to find a consistently reliable goalscorer.
Last season, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo finished as the club’s joint-leading scorers across all competitions, registering 12 goals each during their debut campaigns.
Mbeumo has continued delivering this season, scoring four times in seven Premier League appearances despite United’s disappointing results.
The Cameroonian opened the scoring against Leeds United on Sunday, finishing a first-half opportunity before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised after the interval.
As Centre Devils reported, the draw extended Michael Carrick’s winless run to six matches.
Sesko, meanwhile, has endured a frustrating campaign.
The Slovenian has scored just once in four league appearances and is yet to start a Premier League match this season.
Having already experienced shin problems, another setback has raised uncertainty over when he will return to full fitness.
Nevertheless, there has been positive news for another Manchester United attacker.
Young Manchester United forward Kobi Marsden-Umebuani has been officially named the leading goalscorer at the 2026 Prvi Koraci youth tournament in Croatia.
According to tournament organisers AFT, Marsden-Umebuani scored nine goals in the 2013-born age category.
United made their debut at the tournament and reached the final, ultimately finishing runners-up behind Hungarian side Budapest Honved.
The four-day competition concluded on October 18, bringing together 156 teams from 14 countries across six age groups.
United’s young side finished ahead of Jagiellonia Bialystok and NK Slaven Belupo, who completed the top four.
Although the team missed out on the trophy, Marsden-Umebuani’s individual achievement provided a memorable conclusion to United’s first appearance.
