The 2026/27 Championship roster is stacked with incredible talent across the board from all 24 teams competing in the division, but who is each club's most valuable player right now?
According to Transfermarkt, putting together the market values of every current Championship club, that total reaches around €2.4 billion (£2.02 billion), which, whilst almost seven times smaller than the Premier League, is still an eye-watering amount.
Every year, players come and go in the second tier, increasing and decreasing the total market value of the division, but on the whole, the Championship has seen a steady increase year-on-year for a while now.
Whilst the likes of West Ham United can afford to complete numerous eight-figure deals in the division despite relegation, some, like Lincoln City, can only dream of that amount.
Though this begs the question: what is every current Championship club's most valuable player right now? Well, Football League World has taken a look at this and, using data from Transfermarkt, has ranked every club's most valuable player from least to most expensive.
Figures have been converted from Euros (€) to GBP (£) for this list.
Starting us off is Cardiff City's Danish forward Yousef Salech. Salech, born in Denmark, can represent either one of his birth nation, Palestine, Poland, or Jordan, through his parents, and given his form since joining the Bluebirds, it's a surprise no national team has snapped him up yet.
With Transfermarkt valuing him at €3.80m (£3.2 million), he is the cheapest player on the list according to the website, but you would imagine Cardiff would demand significantly more for the 24-year-old forward to be tempted into a sale.
Next up is Lincoln City's Mikkel Ladefoged, and given the Imps' lack of financial muscle, it's no surprise the Dane is their most valuable player.
Signed for a reported £4.3 million from Västerås SK in the summer, Ladefoged will be crucial to Lincoln's survival efforts this season, as if he can guide them to survival, he will be worth every penny.
Tied with Jack Atchenson as Blackburn Rovers' most valuable player at the moment, Icelandic forward Andri Gudjohnsen is valued on Transfermarkt at around €4 million (£3.4 million).
Son of former Chelsea, Barcelona, and Stoke City forward Eidur Gudjohnsen, the striker, like Ladefoged for Lincoln, will likely be crucial in Rovers' hopes of avoiding a relegation battle this season.
Charlton Athletic winger Tyreece Campbell has taken a huge leap forward in his development this season, having already outscored his goal tally from last season this time around.
The 23-year-old winger is unsurprisingly the Addicks' most valuable player, and Nathan Jones' side will do well to keep a hold of him for much longer.
Portsmouth's Croatian attacking midfielder was reportedly the subject of interest from both Birmingham City and Wrexham over the summer window, after the Australian-born player enjoyed a fantastic debut year in England with Pompey.
By far and away Portsmouth's most influential player in the final third, John Mousinho will be hoping his side can take major strides in the Championship this year; otherwise, they surely won't be able to keep hold of him for much longer.
Irish goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has had a tricky few years, losing his place at Southampton multiple times, whilst loans with Standard Liege and Stoke City did more damage to his career than they did good.
A fresh start with Bolton Wanderers arose this summer, signing a permanent deal in Greater Manchester, where he will be hoping to remind everyone why Southampton paid a reported £12 million for him from Manchester City back in 2022.
Richard Kone shot into prominence after his performances at the Homeless World Cup, starring in non-league for Athletic Newham, and eventually earning a move to the EFL with Wycombe Wanderers.
The Ivorian would continue to shine for the Chairboys, and joined Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2025, and whilst he hasn't quite hit the heights many would have expected, his meteoric rise is reflected in Transfermarkt ranking him as the R's most valuable player.
Preston North End have had a difficult start to the season, and following the dismissal of Paul Heckingbottom, have called upon Graham Alexander to rescue them from their rut.
Despite an expensive summer by Preston's standards, in which they broke their record fee paid for Alfie Devine, their most valuable player right now is Chelsea loanee Caleb Wiley, who is yet to have much of an impact at Deepdale.
From one American to another, Derby County's Patrick Agyemang is the Rams' most valuable player right now.
After suffering a long-term injury towards the latter stages of last campaign, the forward missed the World Cup and the first block of fixtures as a result, as John Eustace will be hoping to see him back in action sooner rather than later.
Moroccan winger Othmane Maamma caught the eye at Vicarage Road in his first season with Watford, though he has struggled to translate that form into this campaign as yet.
Still just 21, Maamma is highly regarded as one of the best young talents currently in the Championship, and it is no surprise to see him as the Hornets' most valuable player right now.
