The centre-back has identified set-pieces as an area where he can improve, after failing to gain the rewards he wants this season.

Asked whether scoring was something he wanted to rectify, Fernandez said: "Yeah, 100 per cent. I was speaking about it with my mates the other day. It's something I want to do."

"I think when one comes, more will come. It's just getting the timing right, whether it's from set-pieces and opportunities, and finding a way to get a goal."

Fernandez joined from Peterborough United last season and scored six goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for his side.

The Nigerian international will hope his second season brings a breakthrough against Dundee, as Rangers prepare for Saturday night's fixture.
