Uh oh. Ahead of the Week 8 AFC North clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cleveland Browns face an ugly opportunity to tie an NFL record for all the wrong reasons.
Hours before kickoff, ESPN's Adam Schefter pointed out that if Cleveland loses its Week 8 game to the Steelers, the Browns would tie the Detroit Lions for the most consecutive regular-season road losses against the same team.
"The Browns have lost 22 straight regular-season games in Pittsburgh, and have not won a regular-season game there since Oct. 5, 2003 -- 8,248 days ago," Schefter wrote via X. "They are one loss today shy of tying the NFL record for most consecutive road regular-season losses vs. a team in NFL history that the Lions currently hold, losing 23 straight games at Green Bay from 1992 through 2014."
Browns fans have been clamoring about a potential sweep of Pittsburgh for the first time in 38 years in the buildup to this game, but tying the Lions' longest road-game losing streak to the same team seems more like Cleveland's style. The Browns is the Browns, after all.
