PSG are moving towards offering Achraf Hakimi a new contract, but the player is happy to hold on and keep improving his standing.

When you have a squad as good as PSG, the real transfer excitement comes in keeping hold of your stars as much as signing new ones.

This season has been all about contracts, with a number of their regulars handed new deals. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is up next, despite his injury. And now there’s word of a fresh deal for Achraf Hakimi in the pipeline.

Full back patient on new deal as great form continues

Talk about negotiating from a position of strength – Hakimi reminded everyone why he’s the best wing back in the world (and one of the best of all time) with a sensational showing on Friday night. He scored three and assisted the other two, rampaging up the right flank for 90 minutes.

L’Equipe says the club vice captain is ready for a raise. His current deal expires in 2029, and was signed as recently as February 2026.

The PSG management have been “taking the temperate” of the player and his camp over a new contract in recent weeks, while Hakimi’s entourage prefer to wait – you can understand why when he plays like he did this week.

In other news…

Hakimi’s superb hattrick was key to his team’s win over Le Havre on Friday night.

Before the game, Luis Enrique had been signing the praises of Desire Doue who was brilliant once again.

PSG are not intending to target any new players in January despite the injuries they’ve suffered.
