Having picked up an injury whilst on international duty with the Algerian national team, Le Mans FC’s Adil Bourabaa (21) is set to undergo ankle surgery, according to information from Foot Mercato.

Following several medical assessments and on the advice of specialists, the decision has been taken with the aim of minimising the risk of a relapse. With the operation due to take place this Friday, the midfielder will then be sidelined for the next three months and is not expected to return until early 2027.

A key player in Patrick Videira’s squad, Bourabaa had made the most of the start of the season to establish himself as one of Ligue 1’s rising stars. Having started every one of the first five league matches, the Drancy-born player had so far proved decisive on five occasions, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

These performances were noticed by Les Fennecs manager Brahim Hemdani, who even gave him his first cap for Algeria in the match against Niger.
