Jerry Jeudy’s name keeps coming up in trade talk, whether or not the Browns are shopping him. NFL insider Jordan Schultz named the Cleveland wide receiver as a trade candidate on the “Ross Tucker Podcast” on Saturday, with the November 10 trade deadline a little more than three weeks away.

How Open the Cleveland Browns Are to Trading Jerry Jeudy

Earlier this week, Schultz put Jeudy on a list of players he believes are available and reported that Cleveland would like a third- or fourth-round pick for the 27-year-old. Jeudy, a former Pro Bowler, has eight catches for 81 yards and no touchdowns through five games.

Schultz said he built his list after talking to people around the NFL.

With the Browns 3-2 and second in the AFC North, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler came away with a different sense of the situation.

“The Browns are improved and need veteran help, so my sense is while they are not actively shopping Jeudy, a strong offer could change that.”

Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com said in a clip posted Thursday that Cleveland isn’t shopping Jeudy ahead of the deadline, although Andrew Berry will always listen to offers.

However, Schultz reiterated today that teams know Jeudy is available.

“One more name is Jerry Jeudy. Jerry Jeudy is 27 years old. He’s owed 18 million next year, but it’s all non-guaranteed money. So, you know, he’s had a big game against Pittsburgh and then he only plays 24 snaps against the Jets and which is strange because he plays well against the Steelers and then Concepcion goes out through a concussion, and he’s still not really used in that game.”

“So, that’s a name that I would look at as teams know he’s available. They’ve wanted a third- or fourth-round pick Cleveland has. I’m not sure they’ll get it, but it’s pretty well known around the league that Jerry Jeudy is available,” Schultz stressed again.

How Jeudy Fell Behind Two Rookies and What His Contract Means

The trade talk comes after a steep drop in Jeudy’s role. In 2024, his first season in Cleveland after being traded from Denver, Jeudy made the Pro Bowl with 90 catches, 4 touchdowns, and 1,229 receiving yards, ranking sixth in the NFL.

Last season, Jeudy fell to 50 catches for 602 yards and two touchdowns. This year, rookies Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion moved ahead of him in the receiver rotation.

In the clip, Schultz called the 27-24 win over the Steelers a big game for Jeudy. He had gone more than 2½ games without a catch before he finished with three catches for 36 yards on three targets. His 17-yard catch started the drive that ended with Andre Szmyt’s 56-yard field goal with 10 seconds left.

Head coach Todd Monken praised the catch after that October 1 game but didn’t sugarcoat Jeudy’s place in the offense: “It probably wasn’t enough for a game ball, but for a guy that really isn’t starting now, he’s a rotational player, that’s so cool for him.”

“As a receiver, it’s always tough not getting the ball, but I just got to do what I got to do. It is what it is,” Jeudy said after the October 1 win.

Ten days later, Concepcion suffered a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick in a 17-12 loss. Jeudy finished that game with three catches for 19 yards on seven targets. Concepcion has since cleared the concussion protocol and will play on Sunday against the Ravens.

Now, coming to the contract, per Spotrac, a team that trades for Jeudy would owe $1.08 million guaranteed this season and $22.9 million in non-guaranteed money in 2027. The Browns would carry $9.3 million in dead cap this year and $25.4 million next year.

The open question is whether a team meets Cleveland’s reported price for a receiver who made the Pro Bowl two seasons ago before November 10.
