Predicted Newcastle United team v Crystal Palace with three changes

Looking at this Newcastle United team v Crystal Palace.

Matthias Jaissle and his players looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats.

Newcastle United losing to Coventry and Aston Villa.

The new Newcastle United Head Coach having now overseen four wins, two draws and three defeats in the opening two months of the season.

Ahead of this weekend’s matches, Crystal Palace one point and three places in the table below United.

As a reminder, this was the Newcastle United team v Aston Villa:

Hornicek, Thiaw, Botman, Hall, Lewis Miley, Gonzalez, Willock, Joelinton, Wissa, Barnes, Fernandez-Pardo

On Friday at his pre-match press conference, Matthias Jaissle gave a little more away than normal regarding injuries/fitness.

Tino Livramento is now the only outfield Newcastle United player definitely ruled out of making the matchday squad on Sunday. Keeper Ewen Jaouen will also be absent.

Joelinton was clearly nowhere near 100% fit when starting against Villa but another week of training should have him far closer to doing himself justice.

It sounds as though Anthony Elanga and Jacob Ramsey could make the 20 player squad on Monday but a place on the bench beckons, as they build up their fitness.

What’s expected though is that the likes of Dan Burn, Amar Dedic and William Osula could now be in a position to start, if selected.

Matthias Jaissle also revealed that Matias Fernandez-Pardo is a doubt for this game due to illness.

This is my predicted Newcastle United team v Crystal Palace:

Hornicek, Dedic, Thiaw, Burn, Hall, Gonzalez, Lewis Miley, Joelinton, Wissa, Barnes, Osula

If my prediction is proved correct, this would mean three changes:

IN – Dedic, Burn, Osula

OUT – Willock, Ferndez-Pardo, Botman

I think Dedic will definitely come in at right-back if fit enough to do so.

However, if that change happens, I expect Lewis Miley to go into midfield alongside Nico and Joelinton. That should give United a more solid and physical presence than has been the case recently.

I think people go over the top on Sven Botman with their criticism but with club captain Dan Burn back available I think he will come in and look to tighten it up at the back.

Matias Fernandez-Pardo has been thrown in the deep end due to injuries and even if available, I think for sure Will Osula comes in for him.
