Rugby fanatic Roy Sheldon, chairman of CONNECTUS, recently hosted a charity evening at Hotel Wrexham.
That featured former Scotland and British & Irish Lions head coach Sir Ian McGeechan as guest speaker.
CONNECTUS is a local business connectivity company specialising in cyber security and IT support for organisations across a wide range of sectors and sizes.
During the evening, Sir Ian spoke openly about his prostate cancer journey and the positive outcome of his six-week course of radiotherapy. The news was greeted with huge applause.

An even louder response followed when Sir Ian was asked to name the three best rugby players of his generation. It took him only two seconds to answer: "In no particular order: Gareth Edwards, JPR Williams and Barry John."
An auction and raffle held at the end of the evening raised £3,520. A cheque was presented to Phil Jones, secretary of the Wrexham Prostate Cancer Support Group.
Phil said: "Our group has come a long way since it was formed in 2018, and we are recognised as the largest support group in the UK.
"All the money we raise is used locally. We are aiming to raise £130,000 to help procure focal therapy solutions for treating men at Maelor Hospital but our top priority is inviting men, and their wives/partners, to visit the group who next meet on November 4 at 7pm at Hotel Wrexham."
