Ilkley Town out of cup to Silsden after Selby Town draw

The visiting Cobbydalers dominated the first half but could not find the breakthrough, wasting a glut of chances, while Josh Dickerson also made a good save from Zak Khan.

Ilkley had a good chance to level the game on the hour mark, but otherwise it was all Silsden and they scored a deserved goal on 78 minutes when Andy Briggs turned home Kayle Price’s low ball across.

Town hit back, with a shot agonisingly deflected over before a cross-shot came back off the bar.

Town were also in action on Saturday in Division One of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

They took the lead twice at Selby Town through Dan Clark-Coates and Auzair Khan, but were ultimately forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.

The result leaves Ilkley six points clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Guiseley have booked an FA Cup first round home tie against Sutton United after winning 3-0 at Leiston on Saturday.

Then, in the Northern Premier League Premier Division on Tuesday night, they claimed a vital 2-1 home win over title rivals Cleethorpes Town.
