Karim-David Adeyemi has reflected on his seamless transition to life at FC Barcelona, pinpointing Hansi Flick as the driving force behind his arrival. Speaking to the Catalan giants' official media channels, the winger explained: "Hansi Flick is the reason I am here and I am very grateful to him. I speak to him honestly, and that is very important. We have a special connection, just as he does with the entire team."
As reported by 'Mundo Deportivo', the Germany international also recalled the initial piece of advice offered by the coach: "To enjoy every training session, the team atmosphere, Barcelona, the Catalan people... that was the first thing he taught me." Adeyemi has hit the ground running, charmed by the city's sunshine, warmth, and welcoming environment. "Some friends still tell me they can't believe which club I'm playing for. Sometimes I think I'm still in a dream," he confessed.
Turning his attention to his idols, the forward reaffirmed his deep admiration for Lionel Messi, whom he has long considered the greatest in the world. Even so, when challenged to name three former Barcelona luminaries he would have relished sharing the pitch with, he selected Andres Iniesta, Neymar, and Ronaldinho. Adeyemi also spoke fondly of the Spotify Camp Nou, describing the spine-tingling sensation of hearing the club anthem echo out, even while extensive renovation works continue.
