Who will start for Anthony Edwards as Timberwolves star set for surgery?

Minnesota Timberwolves superstar guard Anthony Edwards "will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his ailing right knee and miss up to two months," per ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday evening.

Edwards is the sun, moon and stars for the Timberwolves, making his possibly two-month absence devastating for Minnesota's journey in the Western Conference.

Who will step up in his place? Guard Ayo Dosunmu should get Edwards' spot in the starting lineup at shooting guard alongside point guard LaMelo Ball, shooting forward Jaden McDaniels, power forward Jonathan Kuminga and center Rudy Gobert.

Dosunmu is having a great season off the bench for Minnesota, averaging 12 points, four rebounds and four assists for the Timberwolves as the team's sixth man. With Edwards out, he will take on much more responsibility.

We'll see when Edwards is able to return from his knee surgery. The team is 3-1 on the season so far.

Who do the Timberwolves play next?

The team hosts the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
