Gloucester Rugby held two-time defending champions Union Bordeaux Begles to a nail-biting 36-36 draw in the first round of the European Champions Cup.
Welsh star Jac Morgan was among a forwards pack that proved influential in gaining the shared points at Kingsholm on Friday night - and he was left full of praise for the home fans who roared them on so close to what would have been an incredible victory.
"It was a good challenge today," Morgan said. "And I thought the boys, the whole team, the starting boys and the boys who came on at the bench brought a lot of energy and, the effort they put into that game to keep going against that Bordeaux pack and against that Bordeaux team was good."
The 'Holm was in fine voice, with the atmosphere reverberating into the Gloucestershire night, trying to aid the Cherry and Whites throughout the affair.

"There's a hell of an atmosphere there. It means a lot to us boys having (the) supporters there, hearing them cheering us on, it's great. It's great to be able to run before the game, in front of the shed, before we went into the changing rooms.
"You speak to a lot of boys and they say how much of a good atmosphere it is in Gloucester and, yeah, it really goes to show in the games we've played at home this season and tonight, the crowd was massive and really gives us an extra little bit of a boost."
Morgan praised his new side on the resilience shown throughout the whole test against the powerful French side.
"The way the boys reacted and just stuck in for the 80 minutes and the effort they put into it I thought was brilliant... the trust we showed in each other for the 80 minutes was brilliant and it obviously kept us in the game."
Another influential Friday night fixture takes place in Gloucester next week, with Bath making their way to Kingsholm for a potential feisty affair under the floodlights.
"I haven't thought too much of it with the games we've been having, you know, we take it week by week but, yeah, looking forward to that challenge and experiencing that game at home."
The opportunity to match the number of wins seen at Kingsholm last year for the Cherry and Whites has arisen, with just one needed after two home fixtures.
"I think the exciting thing about it is that everybody comes in every week to try and get better as a squad and, we just take it week by week and, like today, they'll be learning from today that we can take it to next week and, yeah, we look forward to playing next week at home."

The former Ospreys star has settled into his new competitions with ease, scoring two tries and matching world-class packs.
"It's always different, you know, every team, every club play a different kind of rugby and we just knew it's a lot more attacking and that's one thing I've found since being here. So, yeah, no, I've really enjoyed the first couple of months here and, yeah, just keep on building."
Top of the table Gloucester await another Friday night, under the lights awaits Gloucester. As heads turn to Bath Rugby in the Gallagher PREM at Kingsholm next week.
