Resilient QB's Week 6 play earns shared record with Patrick Mahomes

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made more history last Sunday with his victory, tying him with Tom Brady. An emerging star on another team joined him in the quarterback record books.

In the Chicago Bears' 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, Bears quarterback Caleb Williams passed for 305 yards and recorded his 50th career touchdown pass. Williams returned after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Williams now has 50 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions, making him the third quarterback in NFL history with fewer than 15 interceptions at the time of his 50th career touchdown pass. He joined Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, with 10 interceptions, and Mahomes, with 13.

The former top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, who entered the league with many comparisons to Mahomes, has added another reason people point to similarities. The Chiefs and Bears aren't scheduled to meet in the regular season, but both teams would welcome a Super Bowl showdown in Los Angeles.
