ESPN suggests Rams should move CB Emmanuel Forbes at trade deadline

The Los Angeles Rams could have a cornerback available before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler listed Emmanuel Forbes as a player the team could move, following the Rams' acquisitions of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson as well as the decision not to pick up the cornerback's fifth-year option.

He lost his starting spot to additions Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, and perhaps he has untapped ability as a rangy 2023 first-round pick who has shown glimpses in Los Angeles. The Lions are among teams looking for corner help.

Forbes’ role has shrunk since the Rams rebuilt their secondary in March. He has played in all eight games but made no starts, and his defensive snap share has fallen from 73% in 2025 to 25% this season. He has nine tackles and two passes defensed.

Last year was his best since he was the No. 16 overall pick by the Washington Commanders in 2023. He started 14 of 17 games, intercepted three passes, broke up 18 and had 45 tackles and a forced fumble.

But with a crowded cornerback room that also includes the emergence of nickel defender Josh Wallace, there isn't a real space for Forbes to see meaningful work unless McDuffie and Watson sustain injuries. That might be the reason to keep him, but the Rams could flip Forbes for draft capital if another team comes calling.
