In recent months, Désiré Doué (21) has steadily been gaining prominence within the Paris Saint-Germain squad. And as he has recently begun his third season, the French forward has gradually established himself as the club’s attacking leader since the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Having featured in 12 of the 13 matches played so far by Les Rouge et Bleu, Doué has already proved decisive on eight occasions (four goals, four assists), with all of these coming against very high-level opposition – Manchester City, Olympique de Marseille, Barcelona, Aston Villa, RC Strasbourg-Alsace.

This impressive form has, of course, been appreciated by his manager. “He’s a player with an incredible work ethic and a constant desire to help the team,” said Luis Enrique at a press conference on the eve of PSG’s away match at Le Havre.

“When you take him off, he’s always smiling on the bench. He wants to help the team. He’s an incredible player and a real joy to watch for children and for anyone who loves football. I encourage him to carry on doing things the same way – to be humble and ambitious, because it’s important to be ambitious. Let him carry on doing what he’s doing.”

But however good he may be, Doué remains a player in the spotlight. This is a factor that Enrique must inevitably take into account in the way he manages his young prodigy. “For a player of his technical ability and at his age, the hardest thing is dealing with the hype surrounding him,” explained the Asturian.
