Fantasy football starts and sits for Chicago Bears players in Week 8

By Monday, your fantasy week has already been decided or the Monday Night Football matchup will decide whether or not you win. That is why it is so important to get your Monday players right.

Unfortunately for fantasy owners with Chicago Bears players, they are going against one of the best defenses in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have been horrible for fantasy owners, generally quarterbacks and wide receivers, leading to less points.

Still, there are some players worth starting from the Bears in fantasy football this week. But who should be in your lineup and who should stay on the bench?

Start: RB D’Andre Swift

First, D'Andre Swift is a top-10 running back in fantasy football, so as long as he is healthy, he should be in your lineup. If Kyle Monangai returns on Monday, that could lead to a decrease in Swift’s fantasy production. But even if that happens, he has a good floor and a high ceiling. Seattle’s run defense is not ideal to run against. However, they allow a decent amount of receiving yards to running backs and have given up six total touchdowns to backs this season. Therefore, this matchup is not that bad for Swift.

Sit: QB Caleb Williams

Caleb Williams had a good day in fantasy last week with 308 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also added 18 rushing yards to his day. However, this is a terrible matchup for fantasy quarterbacks. The Seahawks are allowing the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. ESPN is even projecting him to have a low point total with less than 16 points. This would be a good week to keep Williams on the bench.

Start: TE Colston Loveland

Seattle’s defense is a horrible matchup for tight ends so far this season. However, so were the New England Patriots last week and Colston Loveland had seven receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Loveland is hot right now and the Bears are making a clear effort to get him the ball with 19 targets in the past two games. He is finally putting up the production fantasy owners drafted him for, so it is time to put him in the starting lineup, even with this matchup.

Sit: WR Rome Odunze

Unsurprisingly, one of the best defenses in the NFL does not allow a lot of fantasy points to wide receivers. In fact, they allow the fewest fantasy points to receivers out of any team in the league through the first seven weeks. Rome Odunze finished last week with decent production in PPR leagues with four receptions for 69 yards. However, not only has his production generally been poor and he still does not have a touchdown, but this is about the worst matchup for him. Definitely a week to keep Odunze on the bench.

Sit: WR Luther Burden III

Luther Burden has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, especially since Caleb Williams came back from his hamstring injury. However, his targets took a dip in last week’s win against the New Englad Patriots. After having a career-game in one half with four receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown, he was not targeted again for the rest of the game. Also, as previously mentioned, this is a terrible fantasy matchup for wide receivers. If you have the wide receiver depth, this would be a good week to bench Burden.
