Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese got into it with Golden State Valkyries center Aminata Gueye during Game 2 of the 2026 WNBA Finals.

The Dream picked up a comfortable 79-65 win over the Valkyries in Game 2 of the 2026 WNBA Finals to tie the series at 1-1 with a historic performance from Reese.

The 24-year-old had plenty of motivation on the court to have a big game, especially after her interaction with opposing center Gueye at the end of the first quarter.

Angel Reese sounds off on Aminata Gueye during a free throw before an emphatic block

After Reese drew a foul on Gueye with over a minute left in the second quarter, Gueye is seen on the broadcast exchanging heated words with Reese, with the camera capturing Reese sending a brutal message right back.

“You can’t —- with me. Bum a–.”

On the very next possession, Reese would back her words up by delivering an emphatic block on a Gueye shot attempt, sending her message in even stronger fashion.

Reese had a dominant night with 30 points (10/16 FG, 1-1 3PM), 16 rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 34 minutes of action.

Unfortunately for Gueye, this happened over the only minute of action she got in this game, grabbing one rebound while having her only shot attempt blocked by Reese.

This is Gueye’s first WNBA season, and she has been a fringe player for the Valkyries all year, earning just four minutes of PT over the entire regular season. Gueye was clearly outmatched by Reese in her only minute of action and put herself in a tough situation against the reigning WNBA DPOY.

With the series tied at 1-1, the Dream have stolen home-court advantage before hosting Games 3 and 4 at the State Farm Arena. It required a coordinated effort by the WNBA, NBA, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Dream to play these games in the SFA, so fans will likely come out in heavy support.

Gueye is likely not going to play again in the Finals unless it requires her to play emergency minutes. Reese, on the other hand, is going to continue leading the Dream as their superstar, averaging 22.0 points and 14.0 rebounds through two Finals games.
